Molten Fire Lava Rock Reworked Vintage Statement Ring

A tiny piece of mid-century history, completely reimagined.

This one-of-a-kind statement ring began as a vintage cufflink featuring an extraordinary oval textured red art glass cabochon. The glass has an almost molten, lava-like surface with fiery red and magenta tones and flashes of gold, blue and iridescent color as it catches the light.

I removed the original cufflink hardware, carefully prepared the piece, and soldered it onto a vintage adjustable ring base—transforming a piece that may otherwise have gone unworn into a dramatic statement ring.

The original cabochon is surrounded by a black setting and ornate antiqued gold-tone openwork frame, which gives the ring a wonderfully moody mid-century look.

Condition: Very good vintage/reworked condition with age-appropriate wear and patina. Because both vintage and repurposed components were used, small signs of their previous lives may remain and are part of the character of the finished piece.
