The Keyhole Necklace
Some pieces just seem to find one another.
This completely one-of-a-kind necklace was created from an unexpected collection of vintage treasures: a pair of 1940s screwback earrings, antique-style furniture hardware, and faceted Art Deco manganese glass beads.
The ornate vintage keyhole escutcheon became the natural centerpiece of the design, retaining the beautiful aged patina that only time can create. On either side, components salvaged from the 1940s earrings feature vivid green rectangular stones surrounded by intricate antiqued metalwork. Faceted green manganese glass beads and coordinating clear glass accents connect the pieces before transitioning into an antiqued chain.
The result feels wonderfully mysterious—part Art Deco, part old-world architectural salvage, and part found treasure. Rather than disguising the history of the components, I intentionally allowed their age, patina, and individual character to remain part of the finished piece.
Each element had a life before becoming this necklace, making this a true one-of-one House of Holliday creation that can never be exactly reproduced.
